Wizkers - Sketch

This is an early concept for one of the characters that is about to be introduced in my "Runner" comic. Her character is inspired by Isaac Clarke from Dead Space, and Aisha Clan-Clan from Outlaw Star.

Probably my favorite character overall, "Wizkers" is the story's 'brilliant engineering type' who had a falling out at the tail end of her academy schooling and ended up getting officer commission but crappy assignments. Like all felines, she is morbidly curious about everything, and is often too flirtatious for the comfort of others (which she thoroughly enjoys abusing.)

The feline military does not use standardized uniforms. Wizkers has an amalgam of lightweight armor pieces that are combined with maintenance gear and other engineering tools. Her outfit has some minor Dead Space elements (for instance, there is a HUD projector on her armor's chestplate.) Her suit also holds an emergency HAZMAT mask and oxygen supply, but otherwise provides little to no protection. Wizkers prefers mobility over heavy armor, but she can don a heavy, spaceship maintenance suit when the need arises. Like all feline engineers, she is adept at remotely hacking enemy systems and has small arms weapons training.

Her most distinctive feature is a headset she has affectionately named "Scratch". Scratch is a feat of engineering marvel built entirely by Wizkers as a personal project during school. Scratch is capable of a wide range of functions, such as seeing infrared, monitoring simple lifesigns, measuring atmospheric pressure and liquid volumes, and estimating the general density of a solid object. As the story progresses, Scratch continues to gain functions, including playing music through an earpiece she later adds.

When asked about her name, she replied that is a nickname from the academy: a combination of her engineering "wiz" and her... well, you know.
